South Korea to digitise medical image exchange system

South Korea’s Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute are piloting a system for improved digital exchange of medical images between hospitals. The system, designed to ease data sharing and prevent duplicate testing, could become a standard feature in a health sector in which 9,000 hospitals and facilities have been involved in developing information exchange since 2016.
